What's inside
Most owners only look at the first number. But cheap leads that never buy are not cheap: they are the most expensive leads you have. Fill in the table below once a week. It takes ten minutes.
Cost per lead: what one enquiry costs you
Ad spend for the week divided by the number of leads that came in. Find spend in your ad account (Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads) and leads in your CRM, inbox or form tool.
Booked calls: how many leads actually talk to you
Booked calls divided by leads, as a percentage. Find it in your calendar or booking tool. A low number means your leads are not ready or your follow-up is too slow.
Cost per customer: what one paying customer costs you
Ad spend divided by the number of people who actually paid you. Find payments in your invoicing or payment tool. This is the number that decides whether your marketing works.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate cost per lead?
Divide your ad spend for the week by the number of leads that came in that week. Use the same date range for both numbers.
How do I calculate cost per customer?
Divide your ad spend by the number of people who actually paid you in the same period. This is the number that decides whether your marketing works.
